It seems after a campaign by Architecture professor at the New York school, Despina Stratigakos, Mattel will be producing an Architect Barbie later this year.

I love ideas that when first heard seem to be a little off the wall, ridiculous even, but when thought about for a little longer actually become really solid. Architect Barbie is just such an idea. A positive female role model encouraging and inspiring, we need far far more of these small touches that promote the proffession and promote women in architecture. (Particularly like the model of the Barbie house, wonder if it's at scale!)
