London Biennale 06 - the Student Festival project kicks off

The first preparations for the student festival at the Biennale next June have now been put in place, with the September School workshop which took place last weekend at London Met. Originally with only 20 places, demand was so great that the workshop doubled in size and just under 40 of us took over London Met's studios for three days. Three manic days. We worked on a brief centred around the future of London to produce conceptual designs for 10 sites along the route of next year's Biennale.

The Student Workshop has produced some fabulous designs for transforming the capital next June, on sites stretching along the route of the Biennale, from King's Cross in the north, down through Clerkenwell, Farringdon and the City to Borough Market in the south. The projects are going to be presented at 100% detail in late September, taking over a massive table in the bar - we're thinking it's going to be a pretty popular exhibit. After that, units in several architecture schools around the country have committed to taking on sites and to produce interventions for them, which only leaves the archaos intervention(s). We want to try to include as many people from as many different schools as possible.

So where do we want to take it from here?
