The future of architectural education

The next archaos forum is now only a couple of weeks away. It's going to be at Oxford Brookes, 3rd and 4th November and we're hoping to have at least two students from every architecture school in the country there. It's going to be about the validation criteria - the requirements that you have to meet to get your part 1, 2 or 3 - which are going to be reviewed starting next year and we want to make sure that students have a say in it. It's going to be joint with SCHOSA (the standing committee of the heads of schools of architecture) who also have plenty of thoughts on the subject and this will be a good opportunity to talk directly with people running the schools about what we think should happen. RIBA are also busy developing policies for the future of architectural education and we hope to provide feedback for them too. Have a look at the online forum where the full information, along with archaos' initial response has been posted.

The forum provides an opportunity for us to get together to discuss current issues and also to meet students from around the country. We want two students from every architecture school in the country (although you can bring more too if your school can help fund it) so get in touch if you would like to come - email alison@archaos.org. Even if you can''t make weíd like to know what you think on the interactive forum. See you in Oxford.

Free student places for conference 'the inclusive studio' at the RCA Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd November. Full details on the forum, or email chadwicks@btinternet.com to book your place.
